A vibrant community hub designed to celebrate local culture.
The Dalby Cultural Centre acts as cultural cultivator and an extension of the park, opening itself to outdoor events, markets, workshops and gatherings that blur the boundary between building and landscape. Its architecture invites movement and discovery, offering a sequence of spaces for reading, making, learning, viewing and celebrating — a collective “living room” for Dalby where knowledge, creativity and community intersect.
The centre is designed as an interpretation of the Western Downs rural vernacular. Organised as a series of pavilions tied together by informal gathering spaces, the built form is sited along the park’s edge. The town’s valuable green space is preserved, maintaining existing trees, while the building addresses the street providing a civic presence and identity. An open air pavilion at the centre of the building acts as the community anchor of the project, strengthening connection by extending the town centre into the park.

Our Brisbane-based architecture studio was established in 2016. Since then we have rejected the tradition of adhering to a single discipline and aesthetic – instead, we engage in open conversations with you to create a thoughtfully executed outcome.
